Fitness for Life

D. See attached sleep diary. It should be filled out for one weeks time and include all details.
3- A. A sense of contentment. A zest for living and the ability to laugh and have fun. The ability to deal with stress and bounce back from adversity. A sense of meaning and purpose, in both their activities and their relationships. The flexibility to learn new things and adapt to change. A balance between work and play, rest and activity, etc. The ability to build and maintain fulfilling relationships. Self-confidence and high self-esteem.
B. Do things that positively impact others. Learn or discover new things. Practice self-discipline. Enjoy the beauty of nature or art. Appeal to your senses. Engage in meaningful, creative work. Get a pet. Make leisure time a priority. Make time for contemplation and appreciation.
4- A. Answers will vary, but must include a list of activities, the length of time, and the calories burned. Also must include the total amount of calories burned in that day.
B. Answers will vary from staying after a party and helping clean up, then going to a sporting event sitting in a spot where you will have to climb to get in and out, where appropriate walk to school and other school activities instead of drive, etc.
5- Answers will vary. Answers can include activities such as jump roping, hiking, mountain biking, brisk walk, swimming laps, etc.
6- Answers will vary. Answers must include the name and address of a sports center nearest you. They also need to include a list of an activity or sport that this facility offers that interests the student and the time it takes place and how much it will cost.
7- A. Answers will vary. Answers can include: getting in shape, having fun, making friends, learning to cooperate with other people and learning respect for other people, learning fair play and good sportsmanship, learning to share in achievements, improving confidence and self esteem and improving problem-solving skills.
B. Answers will vary. Answers must include the name of a sport and a 3-5 sentence description of what the sport is and at least 2 fun facts about that sport.
8- Answers will vary. Answer must include the name of and a very basic but detailed description of one individual sport.
9- A. Answers will vary. Answers must include the name of 3-5 extreme sports and references of the resources used to gain a greater knowledge of those sports.
B. Extreme sports became popular in 20th century and according to the author of this article they became popular because life became to safe, lacking the feeling of danger, so there were those people that started seeking that feeling out through extreme sports. Answers will vary. Answer should include a rough draft/template of a health and fitness log and a motivational introduction to get someone started on a fitness for life lifestyle






TIPS on How to Create a Webquest


1- Creating a webquest can seem overwhelming at first, at least it did to me, but you can avoid this by creating a simple outline of the main points that you would like to have the students explore through doing this project.



2-Next I set up 2 word documents; one to record the answers and the other to complete the webquest with the links and the questions to be answered for the links.



3-Following your outline start researching and finding websites that have information that pertains to the subjects you were trying to teach. Then just read through the website and become familiar with it.



4- As you read through look for applicable or relevant information and create and question that the students can look for as they read. As you do this record the answer that you would expect from them reading the article.



5- You can add graphics, quotations, more information or anything else that might enhance the learning experience for the students.
